Since every quilt is different, the cost of quilting will vary. The quilting fee will be based on how large your quilt top is and the kind of quilting you wish done on it. The most common quilting I perform is an edge-to-edge treatment such as a pantograph or other freehand quilting design.
As my client, you will provide me with your quilt top and quilt backing. Please review these guidelines for preparing your quilt top and backing for machine quilting. Together, we will choose the thread color and quilting treatment for your quilt. We can meet in person (if you're local) or we can discuss options on the phone or by email... it's your choice.
I prefer to provide the batting as I have a trusted brand that I know will behave nicely during quilting, and will stand up to years of use. The batting I keep in stock is Quilter's Dream Blend, 70% cotton / 30% polyester. It is a mid-loft batting that has a beautiful drape, a soft hand, and extra durability. Quilter's Dream also offers 100% cotton batting, 100% polyester batting (in white or black), wool batting, silk blend batting, and more. These battings would have to be special ordered, so please keep this delay in consideration.
My quilting thread is from Superior Threads, their quality is fantastic and their colors are amazing. Primarily I use their King Tut line of 100% cotton quilting thread (both solid and variegated varieties) as it wears well and stands up to washing. If the color you need is not available in the cotton thread, Superior Threads has many lines of polyester thread to choose from as well.
