Mystery Quilt #3
Clue #3
From your 3" strips of Cream #1, cut sixteen (16) 3" x 3" squares. Draw a line along one diagonal on the back of each square.
From your 3" strips of Red/Blue #1, cut sixteen (16) 3" x 3" squares.
Placing right sides together, lay a cream square on top of a red/blue square. Sew a seam ¼" on both sides of the drawn
diagonal line, then cut along the drawn line. Repeat with the remaining fifteen (15) cream squares and fifteen (15)
red/blue squares. You will have 32 sewn pieces.
Press the seam allowance towards the red/blue piece, resulting in a half-square triangle (HST) as shown. Repeat with all
remaining sewn pieces. Once all the HST have been pressed, trim them to 2½" x 2½". You will have 32 HST when
finished with this step.
